Blogging Topics I came up with on a road trip :D

Many people hesitate to blog, or even begin a blog, as they feel as though "I have nothing to talk about!" This is not the case, as if you know anything about the industry you are part of, the neighborhoods you sell in, or have the power of observation, you are a fountain of important information!

Getting the inspiration for a blog entry can sometimes be challenging, especially if dealing with dreaded "writer's block". To aid in your next blogging session, here are some topic ideas to help get you started:

  • Upcoming
    • concerts or shows
    • sports events
    • charity events or dinners
    • school events (plays, variety fairs, science fairs, etc)
    • parades
    • fireworks
    • holiday celebrations
  • Community
    • picnics
    • garage sales
    • meet-and-greets
    • recycling drives
    • neighborhood clean-ups
    • days in the park
    • local roadway construction
    • new businesses or services offered in the area
    • newsletters

  • Real Estate
    • market trends
    • open houses

  • Anything that people looking at or living in your neighborhoods would find interesting

As you can see, the possibilities are endless! The key thing to keep in mind is this: keep it brief, to the point, and centred around a topic that would be interesting to the reader. The easier the information is to digest quickly, the better the chances of online visitors reading it, and continuing to return to your site for further information!

Happy blogging! Oh and Remember :) if your copying this, can you just put a link there so someone else out there knows that I am also here :)

How to Position Blog Ads to Make More Money :D

Many bloggers use advertisements in their blogs, whether it be from Adsense, Adbrite, or Chitika. Sometimes it can be difficult finding the best ad position in the blog to make money. I'll explain a few basic tips on how to position your ads so that you get the most out of your earnings.

Things You'll Need:

  • Blog
  • Relevant ads
  1. Step 1

Place your advertisement block above the fold. That is, place those blog ads where everyone can see them immediately when they visit the page before they begin to scroll down. If you have advertisements above the fold, an ad title may catch the eye of some visitors who haven't yet found what they're looking for.

  2. Step 2

Put your advertisements on page hot spots. These hot spots include directly above the main content, to the left of the main content, below the top navigation bar, the top of the left sidebar, and above the page footer. Most visitors will look at these spots when they visit your website, so it would be best to let them feast their eyes on some possible ads to click.

  3. Step 3

Place an advertisement block in the body of your main content. Usually bloggers put this ad block right below the title of their blog post. However, if you do this, make sure the ad stands out or else visitors might mistake the ad for the content.

  4. Step 4

The key thing to remember is to put your advertisements as close to your content as possible. After all, people came to your blog to read your content right? So, you'd be better off if you also included some ads close to what your visitors would be reading. This way, they notice your ads more

Blogging - What Is It And Why Should I Do It?

What is a blog? According to Wikipedia, a blog (an abridgment of the term web log) is a website, usually maintained by an individual, with regular entries of commentary, descriptions of events, or other material such as graphics or video. Entries are commonly displayed in reverse chronological order. "Blog" can also be used as a verb, meaning to maintain or add content to a blog.

Many people set up blogs to talk about personal issues, however more and more internet entrepreneurs are using blogs to help promote their business and to drive traffic to their websites, and that is what I am talking about today.

Blogging is a great way to attract search engine traffic, especially if you update your content every day, or at least every couple of days.

One important thing you should remember is to make sure you include your niche-related keywords in the titles of your posts! My websites have come up on several occasions, thanks to this method!

Also, you might want to set up an opt in form on the first page of your blog, offering a free newsletter or ebook. Building a list should be your first priority if you're embarking on an internet marketing business, no matter what niche you are targeting.

If you want to build your list, then you had better make sure your blog posts are useful and relevant to the niche you have chosen, otherwise nobody will subscribe to receive your free newsletter or ebook because they will doubt the value of their content!

If you're stuck for ideas, then this might help: Subscribe to Google Alerts. Select the keyword or phrase you want to be notified of, and Google does the rest! Each day you will receive an email listing news stories and blog posts relating to that keyword or phrase.

Read through each item in the alert and find one that you feel suits your niche and on your blog, make a comment on the topic on the alert. Maybe offer your opinion, or expand on what the news item or blog post talks about. The alerts are really there to give you an idea of what to talk about and you can add more or you can unsubscribe from them at any time. NEVER copy them word for word!

To make some of your posts more interesting, add some images or even audio or video. If you have set up a Wordpress blog, there is a plugin that makes the process of adding audio and video extremely easy.

So remember to blog at least once every couple of days, keep your content relevant and informative, and remember to put keywords in your blog titles and you will be well on your way to increasing traffic to your website in no time!
