Things You'll Need:
Google Adsense Sandbox tool.

Step 1

After hours of searching for good keywords so that Google Adsense will display relevant ads, we are often surprised to find that the ads displayed after we upload our articles or webpages, have nothing to do with our site or article topic.

Step 2

There is a nifty little tool called the Google Adsense Sandbox Tool.
This is a free application that will display 20 sample Google ads based on Adsense filtering and targeting. It is similar to the Google Adsense Preview tool but works for all types of browsers. Google Adsense Preview Tool is great if you use Internet Explorer, but you can't use it in Firefox or Safari. So Sandbox gives other browser users this option.

Step 3

Just go to the website (in resources). Paste your URL or Keywords in the URL or Keyword box. Select AUTO or any other country in the drop down menu. Sandbox has the option to choose your target country if you prefer. Click on "Show Google Ads". A new window will open with the sample ads.

Easy as building a sandcastle in a sandbox!

An Easy Search Engine Optimization Guide

Search Engine Optimization, or SEO, is a particular discipline within web design, intended to increase the site's rankings on a search engine. Since many users who search for a topic will select a site from the first page of results, or may stop after only a few pages, most web masters want their content to be displayed at the top of the page rankings.

There are a number of techniques that can be used to promote your web site within the search engine page rankings, and a number of pitfalls to avoid. Since the field has grown and evolved over the years, there is a body of knowledge and professional debate about it, as well as some long-standing myths and hold-overs from previous techniques that no longer work.

Pitfalls include:

- “Magic formulas” for keyword density
- Dictionary-like lists of keywords in page headers
- Filling tags and headers with irrelevant content
- Using invisible tags or keywords to “trick” the web crawler
- Using link exchanges or farms

Time-tested techniques include:

- Offering high-quality, unique content
- Becoming or utilizing recognized authorities
- Carefully soliciting links from high quality, professional contacts
- Structuring your site to be easy to crawl

Getting into SEO means sifting through all of the information available on how to optimize, determining which information is relevant and current, and then applying the best of it to your own project. Doing so cost effectively is critical.

You can choose to do your own SEO on your web site or contract the work out to professional SEO services. Whether you do the work yourself or hire it out should be a careful business decision, based on the current size and completion level of your site, the amount of user traffic it can handle, the amount of time and skill you can dedicate to the SEO project, and of course your budget.

If you choose to contract the service, do your research on firms that are professional and well respected. As with any other web-based service, caveat emptor. There are good firms and scam artists, clear terms and fine print. Be sure to check the SEO provider's references, and ensure that you're paying for site architecture and content changes, rather than simply for pay-per-click contracts. Avoid any that guarantee you a particular page ranking or sound too good to be true.

By far the best technique for increasing your search engine page ranking (SEPR) is simply offering high quality content that users find valuable. The more people value and respect your site, the more respected bloggers and sites will link to you, thus increasing your rankings.

Remember that the point of SEO is to drive users to your site. You should never find yourself sacrificing a user-friendly experience or the quality of your content for the sake of the search engine bots. Search engines are themselves web sites that must offer a high quality experience to their users, so they will heavily penalize sites that use technical “tricks” that degrade their own user experience. More importantly, a high page ranking is irrelevant without a good web site that keeps users coming back.

SEO Myths and Facts

In the decade or so since the search engine was first invented, the field of Search Engine Optimization has evolved. Some obsolete information and old wives' tales still persist, and these can damage your standings.

The myths and obsolete techniques fall into a few broad categories:

- Keyword density: There are many number of magic formulas touted on the internet, claiming that if you reach the perfect number of keyword instances per page, your rankings will go up. While you do need to have the keyword somewhere in your text in order to have your stated keywords considered relevant, artificially inflating the number of instances is a bad plan. First, it simply decreases the quality of your content. Second, the search engines may begin classifying your site as too spammy, and actually downgrade your rating.

- Tags and META: Loading keywords into your page headers and the meta data of your site is also an old trick that's now likely to get you classified as spammy. Only keywords that are relevant to your content and specific to what your users are searching for should be included.

- Links: Some fraudulent SEO services, and some outdated pieces of advice, will associate your website with link exchange systems and link farms. Since the search engines keep track of these farms and exchanges, and using them is considered trickery, being part of them can actually significantly downgrade your rating.

- Submission to search engines: Once upon a time, submitting your site to search engines was a long and arduous process, which was nonetheless necessary to get a good place in the rankings. These days, search engine submission is generally not needed at all, since the engines automatically search for new sites. If they don't find yours quickly, search engines that have most of the market share.

Conversely, there are a few relevant and current strategies for climbing the ranks of search results. (It should come as no surprise that these are broader and more difficult or time-consuming to implement than the myths would suggest.)

- Unique content: Consistently offering high quality content that is valuable to your users, unique on the web, and from original sources is by far the best way to attract users – and search engines – to your site. If your site consists of copy, providing a unique value in information filtering, commentary and analysis, or other user-friendly services.

- Voice of authority: Along with unique content, offering an authoritative voice is a good way to increase your links and therefore your page ranking. Either become an authority yourself or offer interviews, quotes, or guest content by noted authorities in your field. If well-respected people and organizations recommend or reference your site, your popularity will rise.

- Professional networking for link sharing: As a web master, blogger, marketer, or business owner, professional contacts matter for a wide range of activities. Additionally, you may ask these people to link their sites with yours, or to provide expert and authoritative content for your site.

- Crawler files: Having a robots.txt file that is updated, accurate, and properly configured can make your site easier to catalogue correctly. Building the site's architecture in a crawler-friendly manner can give your site a slight edge that may be worth pursuing. Do remember that search engine developers are concerned with their users and serving them appropriate content. They're smart enough to outwit most technical tricks.

How to Use Different Types of SEO

There are many ways to optimize your website for search engines. It's important to utilize all of the methods for search engine optimization that are legit and avoid SEO companies that employ deceptive or disapproved methods. Read these steps to learn about the different types of SEO.

Things You'll Need:
Back links
Press releases
Syndicated articles
E-newsletters

Step 1
Understand "black hat" SEO. This is the dark side of SEO. It involves deceptive measures to trick both customers and search engine robots. Methods like "cloaking" and "spamdexing" will not only frustrate users, but may get you lower search engine ratings in the long run.

Step 2
Understand keywords. When users are looking for your website, they'll use keywords or search terms. Pages with many relevant keywords in the first 50 to 70 words will show up higher on the search results.

Step 3
Understand inbound links. Inbound links are another fundamental way that search engines rank websites. Essentially, an inbound link is a link from another website to yours. The more relevant inbound links you have, the more popular site appears and the higher it gets rated.

Step 4
Optimize on-page content. This involves fine-tuning the contents of the website to make it more friendly to both users and search engine robots. Optimizing keyword density, including meta tags and structuring the website will help a site rank high in the search engines.

Step 5
Create articles for syndication. Developing informative, unique content and then sharing it with other sites is an excellent way to build back links.

Step 6
Send out press releases and e-newsletters. These help build link popularity and awareness of your site as well as encourage previous customers to return.

These settings will be explained more in detail as more queries arise :)

  2. Step2

Do your research before you type in what the url of your blog should be.
Decide on what subject or subjects to blog about. Then you will have to find the right keywords for these subjects.

  3. Step3

Use the google adwords tool to find the right keywords. Keywords is a combination of 2 or more words that search engines to rank your blog.
Type the subject you want to write about in the box which says "enter one keyword or phrase per line".

See what keywords are there and focus on the ones which have higher traffic. Click on the global search volume column so that the keywords with higher traffic are at the top.

  4. Step4

The next step is to see how much competition there is for that particular keyword. Open up google search or another major search engine page in a new tab of your browser. Type in the keywords in quotes. Note the number of sites available for that keyword. This is your competition. You want to choose keywords with the highest demand and lowest competition.

  5. Step5

If there is too much competition, then go back to your google adwords result and use the next keyword which has search volume. Place that in the search engine and see what the competition is. Continue doing so until you find the right keywords for your subject with low competition.

  6. Step6

It's very possible that the subject you want to blog about has keywords in which the competition is too high. You are not able to find keywords with high search volume and low competition.

In this case you will have to use long tail keyword to get your foot in the door of the first page of search results. For example, if I wanted to blog about making money online and noticed the competition is too high for those keywords. In that case I would create a long tail keyword by using those keywords and adding 1 or more keywords to the end of the phrase. I could use make money online now, make money online easy, or make money online with adsense. The secret is finding words to keep your phrase as short as possible while keeping competition low and demand high. You will have to try many keywords. There are also free and paid keyword tools on the internet to help you find that perfect keyword phrase.

  7. Step7

After keyword selection is complete, keyword placement and keyword density can be worked on. Place your keywords in your url, title page, first post title, and in the first sentence of the first post of your blog. For each page of your blog you will have to keep the keyword density at 2%-4%. This means if on one page of your blog you have 400 words, the main keywords should be repeated 8 - 16 times. Don't over use your keyword or search engines will consider it spam.

  8. Step8

Ideally you should have several pages of your blog already built up before publishing. The more word count for each page the better. 400 or more word count per page is ideal. 1000 word count per page is excellent.

  9. Step9

Then work on backlinks. These are links which point to your website and your website does not point back to them. They are also called inbound links or one way links. Ideally your content should be so good that people will naturally begin to link to your site and you will rank high without doing much.

Often the process needs help getting jump-started. Pick popular sites where links can be created to point back to your sites. Article sites are often the best choice in this area. Some article sites allow you to put links and some forbid it. It's best to write a short amount of content on these site and have them point back to your site. Don't put your best material on other sites! The best article sites which allow one to put links and not write too much material are listed in the resources section.

  10. Step10

Continue building inbound links slowly and steadily using social sites, book-marking sites, article sites, directories, blogging sites and commenting on other blogs.

  11. Step11

Sign up for google analytics to determine who is visiting your site, why are they there, and where did they come from. Use this information to tweak your blog for maximum visitors. Analytics is free but will take a while understanding.

  12. Step12

Continue making long posts with your main keywords and keyword density in mind. Do this on a regularly basis. Not more than 1 post a day and Not less than 1 post a month. Continue building backlinks and tweaking your site. These 3 things will slowly but surely lead you to the fist page of any search engine.

Important Tips:

  • Slow and steady will help you get to the first page of any search engine.
  • Work on inbound links each day but don't over do it. 1 - 10 links per day is fine.
  • Also use alternate keywords in your blog. They will support your main keyword.
  • Don't put too many inbound links too quickly. Search engines will see this as not being natural and put you lower in the rankings.
  • Don't excessively use alternate keyword as they may become your main keywords! Only repeat them once or twice per page.
  • When commenting on other blogs, genuinely read one or more of their posts and be a contributing member before posting your link. Otherwise your post can easily be construed as spam.

How to do Quick and Easy SEO Settings

While Search Engine Optimization (SEO) campaigns can consume considerable resources, there are several simple steps that everyone can take to improve their Website’s organic ranking.

    Things You'll Need:

    • Website
    • Way to edit the Website
    1. Step 1

      (1) FIRST STEP: CHANGE YOUR THINKING
Many people regard Search Engine Optimization (SEO) as something you do to a Website after it has been created. However, many of the recommendations that follow could easily be described as best practices for Website content, links and pages. In fact, many of the factors that Google and other search engines use to determine page rank came from fields very different from search engine technology. For example, screen readers for the blind look for picture descriptions designated by an ALT tag. So by adding ALT descriptions to all of you Website images, you are improving the handicapped accessibility of your Website, in addition to improving your search engine ranking.
So, the first step in simplifying SEO is to change your thinking from optimizing an existing Website, to creating an optimized Website from the ground up by following simple best practice rules for Website content, links and pages. And then, continue following these rules as content is updated and as your Website evolves over time.

    2. Step 2

SUPPLY PICTURE NAMES AND PICTURE DESCRIPTIONS
By using appropriate and descriptive file names for your Website images along with using good Alt text, you can provide search engines with more information about the content of pages on your Website and improve your organic ranking. For example naming a picture “coke-bottle-ring-CBR12.jpg” is better than just “CBR12.jpg” for the picture name. Also, whenever possible include descriptive ALT text of the images used on a Website (e.g. “Amy Artist in her Workshop” versus just “Amy”).

This Google Webmaster Help article describes Google’s guidelines for using and publishing images, including the role of picture names and Alt text (NOTE: A live link to this article is included in the Resources Section): http://www.google.com/support/webmasters/bin/answer.py?answer=114016

    3. Step 3

CREATE PAGE TITLES AND PAGE DESCRIPTIONS
By making use of TITLE and DESCRIPTION Meta tags, Webmasters can influence the content of the title and summary (a.k.a. Snippet) that is used for their Website page in Google Search Results. These tags also give Webmasters another opportunity to include keywords that reinforce the theme content of a Web page.

This Google Webmaster Help article describes how to change a Website page Title and
Description and consequently the search results snippet: http://www.google.com/support/webmasters/bin/answer.py?answer=35624

    4. Step 4

REMEMBER: “TEXT IS BEST FOR CONTENT AND LINKS”
Rich media content (such as Flash, Silverlight and videos) is becoming more popular on Websites everywhere. However, search engines can have difficulty finding and interpreting text and links embedded in rich media, meaning that your Website may not get credit for this content and your organic ranking will suffer. Most search engine robots are much more effective at crawling and indexing Website text than rich media content and they can have difficulty navigating dynamically generated web pages or deciphering page links contained in rich media content.

This Google Webmaster Help article provides suggestions for reducing the impact of using Flash and other rich media files on your Website: http://www.google.com/support/webmasters/bin/answer.py?answer=72746

    5. Step 5

USE KEYWORDS IN YOUR DOMAIN NAME AND PAGE LINKS
Search Engines prefer a Website URL structure that is as simple as possible, and one that is intelligible to human beings (i.e. with readable words). So when choosing a domain name attempt to incorporate words that describe the purpose of your business. For example, a business that does printing would benefit from a domain name that incorporates the word “print”. Also, a Web page URL that ends with about-us, products, company, services, or product-support will be more favorably regarded than a Web page URL that ends with page1, id2, node3 or x4yz. Furthermore, consider using punctuation to separate words in your URLs, some search engines prefer hyphens “-” to underscores “_” (for example use: “red-coat” instead of “redcoat” or “red_coat”).

In addition to the benefit in search engine ranking, by using keywords in your URL structure, you will make it possible for users to type in your domain name or Web page URL from memory and more easily create links to your Website content.

This Google Webmaster Help article has several tips on improving a Website’s URL structure: http://www.google.com/support/webmasters/bin/answer.py?answer=76329

    6. Step 6

THE NOT SO QUICK OR EASY SEARCH ENGINE OPTIMIZATION
Search engine rankings can be influenced by more than a hundred individual factors, and the factors used along with their relative weighting can change (and often do change) from one day to the next but, it is widely recognized that two factors always figure prominently in determining page rank:
      1. High Quality/Unique/Fresh Content
      2. Inbound Links from “reputable” Websites

Please note that the quality of inbound links (determined by a Website’s reputation) is far more important than the quantity of inbound links. When Website A has a link to content on Website B, Website A is in effect using (or risking) its reputation to endorse Website B. Conversely, note that by having a link in your Website to a page on another Website you are using your Website’s “reputation” to endorse the content on the page where your link is directed. Although the definition of a “reputable” Website will vary by source, popular media outlets such as The New York Times and The Washington Post are generally regarded to be highly reputable Websites.

While creating high quality unique content that is updated frequently will require a considerable commitment of resources, you will reap benefits that include more frequent visits from users and a higher probability that others will want to place links on their Website to your content, in addition to improving search engine rankings. The other long-term high resource commitment to search engine ranking is to establish relationships (and page links) with other like minded Webmasters and their relevantly themed Websites. Obviously linking to direct competitors is not something that anyone would recommend, yet links to or from Websites not relevant to your users will most likely not be used and would provide only questionable benefit to your search engine rankings. Needless to say, a link building campaign will not be quick or easy.

    7. Step 7
